Race description
Tahko Trail Run is a new trail running event held in the stunning scenery of Tahkovuori on September 12, 2026. The event offers four different distance options suitable for both beginners and experienced trail runners. The routes pass through natural and varied terrains with challenging ascents and breathtaking views. The event emphasizes an experiential atmosphere, a lively ambiance, well-marked routes, and aid stations. At the finish area, there is a race atmosphere, food, and the opportunity to enjoy a sauna and shower at Break Sokos Hotel Tahko.
Highlights
- 8.5 km route includes Tahko's most beautiful natural sights and scenery, also suitable for walking
- 14 km route offers challenge and experiences, with approximately 370 meters of elevation gain
- 23 km route is demanding and rewarding, passing Rahasmäki trails and including the legendary Tahko stairs, with approximately 650 meters of elevation gain
Additional information
The routes are well marked, and there are multiple aid stations offering water, sports drinks, fruits, and salty snacks. Participants should bring their own cup or water bottle as drinks are only available in personal containers. At the finish, participants receive a medal as a memento, and there are light snacks and drinks available at the finish area. Food is served at Break Sokos Hotel Tahko in the form of a pasta buffet. Participants have the opportunity to use the hotel’s shower and sauna. Bib pickup and information points are located at Hophaus Tahko, next to the event area. The cloakroom operates as a self-service without continuous supervision. There are plenty of parking spaces, most of which are paid; a free parking area is available next to Tahko Bay beach, about a 10-minute walk from the event area. The routes are well marked, and the event includes beverage service, food at Break Sokos Hotel Tahko (pasta buffet), shower, and sauna at the hotel. Participation is also possible for children and families.
