1. Full Moon Backyard Ultra Kymi

Backyard Ultra is an ultramarathon in which competitors run a 6.706-kilometre course within one hour. The race continues as long as multiple runners can complete a lap in under an hour, and the winner is the person who runs one lap more than the others. The course is either a loop or an out-and-back route, and the starting area remains the same throughout the race. There is no predetermined time limit, making the race particularly challenging and exciting. Backyard Ultra events are organised collaboratively in Finland, and the sport is actively being developed.

A start warning is given 3, 2 and 1 minutes before the start. Competitors may not leave the course during a lap, except to use the toilet. Competitors must be in the starting area at the start, and the starting area remains the same throughout the race. Outside assistance and aids such as poles are not permitted. Slower runners must give way to faster runners. Timing lap times is optional. The event includes trail running on forest paths, and participants can use toilets, showers and shelter areas. The start is at Alakyläntie 67 in Kotka, and the course is approximately 6.7 km per lap.
